"Toshiba TLP-SX3500"

Issue: 3/2008
On test: Toshiba TLP-SX3500
Toshiba's latest LCD projector looks to have everything a business could need for high-quality presentations in a wide range of environments. It offers a high brightness of 3,500 lumens, a top SXGA+ resolution of 1,400 x 1,050, and support for both 4:3 and 16:9 formats. There's much more, as it has a huge throwing range and image size, motorised zoom, focus and vertical adjustments, a range of optional lens types, and more inputs and outputs than you can shake a stick at.    More

There's nothing like a projector to give focus to a meeting. A bright, colourful presentation can make your message memorable, and nowadays high-quality data projectors can be very affordable. For this Labs we've focused on XGA prjectors - that is, 1,024 x 768. This resolution may not be ideal for home cinema, as it gives a 4:3 resolution rather than the wdiescreen 16:9 ratio used by many films and now mandated by the HD video specification, but it's perfect for office use, producing crisp text and detailed images. We've also restricted entries to projectors priced at around the £500 mark, and prefereably below it. Naturally, therefore, these aren't the the most richly featured projectors on the market.    More

Whether you want to show off your company's products with a PowerPoint presentation or show the latest blockbuster movie to your friends, a projector will help you make a big impression. The latest office projectors are tiny and portable but incredibly bright, and the latest home cinema projectors are ready to show high-definition video. They're also more affordable then ever.    More

If we were to choose just on word to describe what projectors are all about, it would be 'big'. Whether you're making a business pitch, training staff or setting down to watch a movie, there's nothing like having it plastered wide across the screen.    More
