Not all large screen plasmas are restricted to the bedrooms of lottery winners. The Panasonic TH-46PZ80B could be your first plasma and you won't have to pay with your life savings.    More

"LG 32LC46"

On test: LG Electronics 32LC46
LG is no stranger to the world of the low-cost TVs. After all, it's made more of them than practically any other mainstream brand we can think of. But even by LG's standards, the 32LC46 looks like a bargain, offering 32 inches of excellent picture for under £500. But the price and quality raises just one question: what's the catch?    More

"Toshiba Regza 42Z3030D 42in LCD TV"

On test: Toshiba Regza 42Z3030D
Over the past couple of years, Toshiba's LCD TVs have come on in leaps and bounds. There was a time when the likes of Panasonic and Sony were the first names in consumers' heads when it came to TVs, but these days you'd be a fool not to have Toshiba on your short list. This year though, Toshiba really pulled the stops out, with 1080p and HDMI 1.3 support on all but its entry level sets. Back in may I reviewed the Toshiba Regza 42X3030D, which proved to be a superb performer, packed with features for an unbelievably low price. In fact, at first glance it seemed like Toshiba would have a tough time trying to sell its flagship model later in the year - the Z series. But Toshiba was smart enough to leave 100Hz processing off the X series feature list, so that the Z series would have a clear differentiator.    More

"LG 47LY95 47in LCD TV"

TrustedReviews

So what we have here is a 47in LCD TV that costs as little as £1,275. Let's just say that again: what we have here is a 47in LCD TV that costs as little as £1,275. Obviously we're not just repeating this in a pathetic bid to stretch this review out a bit. Honest. We're just trying to stress the point that even in today's ultra-competitive flat TV world, LG's king-sized LCD big boy looks like a bargain. But are looks in this case deceptive?    More

Widescreen TVs

The widescreen format continues to steam ahead in terms of popularity. Even DVDs are now only offered in 16:9 or anamorphic aspect ratios and no longer in the classic 4:3-TV format. The 16:9-TV corresponds more strongly to the visual field of the person and therefore is suited to presenting the initial vision of directors and film-makers. 300 pounds can buy a good quality TV and will mean that there will no longer be two big black lines filling most of the screen.
