What Digital Camera
Issue: 4/2008
On test: Sony DT 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 (SAL-18200)
This lens arrived a little late for inclusion on our March round up of 18-200mm lenses, so for the sake of completeness, we decided to give it a separate review here. The lens is suitable for Sony cameras and will also fit both Konica Minolta DSLRs - the 5D and 7D.    More

"Samsung 12-24mm f/4 ED AL"

What Digital Camera
Issue: 3/2008
On test: Samsung D-Xenon 12-24mm f/4 ED AL
Samsung's entry into the DSLR market has increased the number of lenses for Pentax users as well as the newer Samsung DSLR owners. This lens, for example, is a Schneider-Kreuznach branded lens that fits both camera brands, thanks to their joint use of Pentax KAF mounts.    More

"Superzoom lenses"

Digital Photo
Issue: 9/2007
On test: Sigma Imaging 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS, Tamron 18-250 mm AF f/3.5-6.3 Di II LD Asph. (IF) Macro, Sony DT 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 (SAL-18200), Olympus Zuiko Digital 18-180mm f/3.5-6.3
Rather than having a bag full of kit weighing you down when you go out for the day, wouldn't it be great to have just one lens that would cover the majority of shooting situations you could find yourself in, with the benefit of not having to keep swapping lenses over all the time. As well as not missing the shot while you mess about fitting the right lens, you'd also eliminate the chances of getting dust and grime inside the camera during the lens changing process. Sounds great doesn't it? This idea hasn't passed lens manufacturers by either, and the result is the convenience of the superzoom.    More
