"ZyXel Super G+ Wireless ADSL router with HomePlug"

Computing Made Easy
Issue: 127

This ADSL router can provide advantages over your ISP-supplied one, thanks to HomePlug technology and good security features.    More

"Draytek Vigor2820n Wireless ADSL2/2+ Firewall Router"

TrustedReviews
Published on: 4/2008
On test: Draytek Vigor 2820n
DrayTek's broadband routers have traditionally offered more for your money than most competing products and the latest Vigor2820n continues this tradition with a range of features that belies its modest price tag. For starters you get an SPI firewall, a draft 2.0 compliant wireless N access point, a three port Fast Ethernet switch with Gigabit uplink, an integrated ADSL2/2+ modem and a second WAN port for load balancing and failover.    More

"Buffalo Wireless G MIMO with DD-WRT"

TrustedReviews
Published on: 3/2008
On test: Buffalo WHR-HP G54DD
Buffalo's latest wireless product may look like one of its standard high power 802.11b/g routers but what lies beneath its unassuming exterior is a feature set aimed specifically at professional users. Instead of Buffalo's normal firmware the unit has been flashed with DD-WRT. So what exactly is DD-WRT, you might ask? Essentially, it's an open source Linux based firmware designed for a range of 802.11b/g/n wireless routers that offers a far greater range of wireless routing features than you'd find in most common or garden consumer and small business products. Being open source it's freely available for you to download and flash your router with. The project has been gathering momentum recently and consequently supports a wide range of manufacturers. However, the risk factor is that by flashing your router there is a slim chance of ‘bricking' it and you're also saying goodbye to any manufacturer support and warranty. Buffalo's new router breaks the mould as this is the first commercially available router that comes with DD-WRT preinstalled and is fully supported by the vendor.    More

"Zyxel P-660HWP"

Personal Computer World
Published on: 2/2008
On test: ZyXEL P-660HWP
The P-660HWP combines an ADSL modem with an 802.11b/g Wifi router and a four-port 100Mbits/sec switch. But the star feature is integrated Homeplug AV networking, which makes every electricity socket in your house a possible network point.    More

PABX Systems with DSL Routers

A PABX system allows for the connection of many communications devices, such as telephones and fax machines to one line and for internal as well as external connection. Such systems are mainly to be found in offices and other places such as hotels where many phones need to be interconnected and accessible from a central switchboard. PABX systems can be used with all types of end user telephones, be they digital, analogue, cordless or otherwise and it is becoming more and more common for them to include DSL hardware for connection of the system to the internet. This is good news for businesses as from a single box and therefore a single power connection, they are able to access the internet at high speeds and also benefit from integrated firewalls and NAT protection. Most systems come with a built in phone books and LED displays as standard.
