Information about the category

Many online photo album services provide software which you can use to design your own book offline. Some of these services also offer an online editor for customers with high-speed Internet connections. The finished photo album is sent as a ring-bound, hard-cover or soft-cover book. Binding quality is a highly variable factor.

Birthday parties, Christmas parties, weddings or vacations - memories that shouldn't just disappear inside a drawer. If you don't have the time or energy to painstakingly stick your pictures one by one in a photo album and label them by hand, online photo e services are particularly suitable for pictures taken with a digital camera. The images are sent over the Internet, or burned to a CD-ROM, and delivered to the album provider where they are printed, bound and sent back to the customer. Many vendors can provide users with an online editor which they can use to design and personalise their own book. This variant is better suited for broadband connections since uploading and editing the images can take a long time. For those with slower network connections, some services provide programs for download which allow you to design your photo albums offline and upload them onto the Internet when you're done. These photo albums are available in either ring-bound, hard cover, paperback book format, or as a booklet, and they're usually produced using laser printers. Photo calendars are another type of photo album: the user selects their twelve favourite photos which are then printed on a calendar. Both photo albums and photo calendars make for great gift ideas!
