MP3-CD-Radios

More and more drivers are finding they can not forgo their favourite tracks while on the road. A car radio has become a standard component of any car and even the most basic will have at least a radio or tape player. The problem with a tape player is that nowadays there is not much you can play on it. CDs have all but replaced tape and MP3 threatens to snatch away the market share from this medium. An MP3 CD player is a great way to get into the new format while retaining backwards compatibility with that CD collection. It is possible to fit anywhere up to ten albums or more on a standard CDr. This makes it a lot safer for drivers as there is no longer the need to fiddle with discs and cases in the middle of a journey. All that is needed to be done with a CD/MP3 player is to press next album. Most come with the ability to read ID3 tags. This means the name of the song, the artist and possible the album will scroll across the screen while playing. You can also search tracks by name or artist as well as all the normal functions such as random and repeat. The radio functions are standard, usually offering FM and MW reception with a number of presets. Most will also make use of the RDS EON system for sending traffic bulletins and important news over FM. The price of an MP3/CD radio is not much higher than a normal CD player and has almost become the current standard in car audio. A standard player with all the important security features such as removable face and keycode will cost upwards of seventy pounds, one with more features, perhaps an SD card slot or iPod connection can easily be treble that.
