MP3 CD Player

The MP3 boom seems to just go on and on. More and more devices are being made to natively support the format, and for music lovers this means that their MP3 files can be played in more and more places. MP3 CD players are CD players which, alongside playing standard RedBook audio CDs, can read and play back MP3 stored on a CD. A standard MP3 player can usually cope with about 512MB worth of tracks, once you allow for the overestimations of manufacturers and formatting data this leaves under four hundred megabytes of songs. You may think this is enough, it equates to roughly 100 tracks at standard quality, but the beauty of an MP3 CD player is that the memory is infinitely expandable. A CD can hold more than 10 hours of music in MP3 format and after that first ten hours, the CD can simply be swapped out for another CD containing a new set of ten albums. Blank CDs cost as little as 12p when bought in bulk and CD writers can be found on almost every modern computer. The main drawback of MP3 CD players lies in their size. They have to be large enough for the CD, in comparison to a small flash player or even a larger hard disk based player like the Apple iPod this can appear quite big and unwieldy. However for the limitless storage potential MP3 CD players are the most cost effective MP3 capable devices you can buy, the ratio approaching one to infinity. MP3 CD players are also good companions for joggers. They employ a long buffer as a form of skip protection, this can be as much as two minutes. An MP3 capable CD player costs less than fifty pounds and is the perfect solution for people with both a large MP3 collection and a wall full of CDs.
