Konica Minolta Magicolour 2590MF PC Advisor 2/2008 - Konica Minolta's biggest problem with its Magicolour 2590MF colour laser multifunction is that better-designed machines (such as the Brother MFC-9440CN) can be had for around the same price. While this model works reasonably well, its design and scan quality could be better.

Multifunctional appliances appeal to those who want print, fax and scan features all in the one device. However more and more compact multifunctional appliances are being used in offices rather than fully fledged copier systems (also known as laser printer/ fax systems). These machines produce a lot of copies in a short space of time. Laser printer/ fax systems are particularly quick and versatile with a very low cost per page. Because of the built-in laser printer, the quality of faxes received is very high and elaborate graphics, lines or shapes are all accurately reproduced. However, sometimes slight weaknesses are noticeable, even on quality prints. The relatively large amount of space required by the machine, its noisy printing and the purchase price are all unfavourable. Private users will most likely continue to use more compact multifunctional printers.
