On test: Motorola MOTOPURE H12
David Beckham is the spokesperson for Motorola's stylish Motopure H12 Bluetooth headset because, according to Motorola, he "knows a thing or two about loud crowds".

Bluetooth Headsets
Bluetooth is a new short wave radio technology that operates at high frequencies, around 2.45GHz and can reach currently reach speeds of 2.1MBit/s. The most essential component of any Bluetooth system is a small microchip which deals with all security and encryption features. This is essential as without sufficient security measures it would be possible for anyone within range to listen in to conversations or access Bluetooth enabled devices. For this reason once two devices have 'shaken hands' the pair will operate on an encrypted ad-hoc network and change communication channel up to 1,600 times a second to maintain a secure link. Bluetooth devices use very little power, and standby times can be extremely high. A Bluetooth headset is used in conjunction with a mobile phone and allows the wearer to make and receive calls while the actual phone is attached to their belt or in a pocket or handbag. The headset usually clips onto the ear and is so light it causes no problems for the wearer. When researching for a product pay special attention to talk- and standby-times and if possible ask to use a demonstration model to get an idea of sound quality.
