4 out of 5 points
MacUser suggested that at such a low price, many of the A200's minor niggles can be almost forgotten but when it comes to image quality, it faces its stiffest competition with cameras such as the Canon EOS 1000D still having the edge.

"The best in its class" (5 out of 5 stars) Value for money: 5 out of 5 stars "Silver Award"
"With a low price and capable of producing high quality images, Digital Photo was somewhat impressed by Sony's new camera. Especially the in-camera stabilisation system, which only adds to the camera's value for money, was singled out for praise. However, without any major upgrades, the magazine's review staff found the A200 more of a refresh than a significant upgrade."
