The day walker!
comes in a nice box!!!! The negative issues are. power consumption with AA's is rubbish with the rechargible a little better. I also found the unit locked up 5 times on a trek in the hills with blue skies. I think alot of these problems are due to the fact that satmap were more intrested in marketing this product and getting it out into the shops rather sorting out all the teething problems and bugs. so guess what guys its going on e bay and back to my garmin fortrex 101 and my map and compass basicly buying a pda that read o.s. mapping its a pitty garmin can't have o.s. mapping on their products because im sure they could come up with something special. Flawed genius
Takes a little while to find sats but good lock when found. Very accurate. Found myself in some nasty weather on the hills in Lakes (poor visibility) but satmap was brilliant. Lack of PC software a pain, also cannot backup onto spare SD cards which considering you can spend over £100 on 1 card is a worry. Great to use though just have to be careful not to walk off some cliff edge when using ; - ) Respond write new opinion |
