"The Nokia 6300 is a great phone if you are looking for just a phone. Of course as soon as you step away from this remit and want better quality pictures, dedicated music buttons, or 3G connectivity then it all starts to fall short."

"The trend at the moment may be for sophisticated smartphones such as the Nseries, but Nokia has thrown a spanner in the works with the 6300. It's a series 40 phone but there is little to set it apart from a Series 60 smartphone. ..."

The mobile phone was reviewed by 5 magazines with special attention paid to performance, and gave reviewers little cause to complain, achieving fair results accross the board.
The 'impressively thin' (Computer Act!ve march 2007) Nokia 6300 is a new cameraphone that eschews the trend towards churning out rehashed models of old phones while adding a few new features that the majority of people will not use. This approach was warmly received by most reviewers, with Cnet making reference to the combination of 'modern design with good old-fashioned simplicity' and TrustedReviews impressed by the sophistication and solid build quality.
The two megapixel camera on the back of the phone is par for the course these days and although 'not top-of-the-range', Computer Act!ve described it as 'more than adequate' and capable of taking 'good shots'.
But, lack of killer features aside, most magazines tended to agree that the Nokia 6300 was a 'a sleek, highly usable handset that is bound to have very wide appeal' as was stated in Computer Act!ve where it achieved a score of 5 stars out of 5, also receiving a 'Recommended' Award from TrustedReviews.co.uk.
