With the ability to produce great photo prints, you would think that the Stylus Photo R285 would be an appealing inkjet. However, as PC Pro points out that the R285 was poor in every other respect. It is bulky in design and its overall performance is average.

Computer Shopper magazine put the
Epson Stylus Photo R285 photo printer
under observation and was fairly impressed, awarding it 4 out of 5 stars.
The photo printer was tested in 5 different magazines and came away with mostly good reviews.
Under the microscope, the Epson Stylus Photo R285 was able to obtain its best score of 4 out of 5 stars in the 12/2007 issue of Computer Shopper magazine. The Test Labs of PC Pro magazine saw fit to give it a score of "average" (3 out of 6 stars) (review in issue 10/2008).
