Perfect Zen

The portable media player was put through its paces in the test labs of 3 magazines and came out relatively unscathed, managing to let its quality carry it though.

The Creative Zen V, is a small and stylish MP3 player that comes in either one, two or four gigabyte capacities and supports both music and image playback. The player's small proportions are lauded by the different reviewers, Tom's Hardware stating that the device 'fits neatly into your hand' and PC Advisor reviewers seemed pleased with the little Zen V's 'simple, clean look'. They also found time to compliment the user interface, as well as its control system which sidestepped 'the usual fiddliness of miniature players', while Computer Buyer states that 'the whole setup works rather well'. The player can record from a line-in socket on its side and can create playlists automatically, based on the user's listening habits as well as custom playlists on-the-fly.

In closing, Julian Prokaza at Computer Buyer compared the player's price favourably to that it of nearest rival, the iPod nano, calling its value for money 'excellent', while reminding potential customers that it would not be compatible with tracks bought from arguably the most popular online music store, iTunes.
