The Mini-DV camcorder was reviewed by 8 magazines with special attention paid to performance, and gave reviewers little cause to complain, achieving fair results accross the board.
Under the microscope, the Canon HV20 was able to obtain its best score of "very good" (5 out of 6 stars) in the 11/2007 issue of PC Pro magazine. The Test Labs of Pocket-lint.co.uk online magazine saw fit to give it a score of 8 out of 10 points (review in issue 5/2007).
