Camcorders no longer have to bring back memories of that huge black block that used to hang from your fathers neck on holiday like an albatross covered in oil. The Sony HDR-TG3 is perhaps one of the finest examples of this being small enough to fit into a shirt pocket yet offering enough power to record 1080i High Definition video.

HDV remains the top-dog for high definition video quality but among consumers, the tapeless AVCHD trumps the older format by offering smaller camcorders and more efficient H.264 encoding which can be easily opened and edited on a computer.
The HF10 features 16GB of onboard flash memory (good for around two hours of video at the highest setting) and an SDHC slot for high capacity memory cards.
