"... the120mm fan spins at a standard speed of 2,100 RPM and the turbulence generated from dragging air over and then blowing it back against so many cooling fins only adds to what is an unacceptably noisy cooler at full speed. It’s even louder than the Asus Triton at full speed (just) and is very intrusive. ... Our testing also found the exact opposite to Zalman's advice regarding the cooler's plastic shroud. Removing the plastic collar upped load temperatures by a good 5°C. We were so surprised by these results we retested them multiple times, but every time came to the same conclusion - that the cooler works better with the shroud left on. ..."

"... As good as the Zalman CNPS9900 LED is, though, we're quite rightly appalled at how big air coolers are getting these days, and there's a good many cases out there that simply aren't designed to and won't accommodate a CNPS9900. ..."
