"There's plenty to like about the M1. It's available for free on a very affordable £15 a month contract, it's got a good range of media features and a decent line up of apps. However, the phone's software is annoyingly buggy. Vodafone has big plans for its 360 service, but if it doesn't want to strangle the 360 brand at birth then it needs to quickly get on top of the issues we've seen with both the H1 and the M1. There's definitely potential here, but the software problems make this handset difficult to recommend at present."

"... Although it supports HSDPA, it lacks Wi-Fi, leaving you totally reliant on the mobile network for data access, which isn't ideal if you live in an area with poor 3G reception. On the plus side, however, we had no problems when it came to making phone calls, as the earpiece is quite loud and the mic delivers crisp, clean audio. ... The Vodafone 360 Samsung M1 looks good, it has a responsive touchscreen and its user interface offers an intriguing approach to social networking. But we experienced a number of problems with the phone's software, so we'd advise potential purchasers to hold off until Vodafone solves these issues."

"... The Vodafone 360 Samsung M1 is let down by one major miss though: the lack of Wi-Fi. This is fast becoming standard on even the most basic of touchscreen devices and it means you're reliant on being in a decent 3G area for making VoIP calls and IMing your mates. Fine if you're in the middle of town, not so if your only web access is a wireless hotspot. ... However, the Vodafone 360 Samsung M1 is a bargain and well worth looking into if you're after a cheap touchscreen, the only caveat being it's limited to 24 month deals. ... A decent budget touchscreen that gives the competition a run for its money."
