Value for money: 8 out of 10 points
Toshiba have done little in the SD-590E to progress from last year. Even the inclusion of DivX HD would have been welcome, or a design reworking. Despite this, it is still an impressively good DVD player and with USB and HDMI ports for those who haven't made the leap to Blu-ray it is a solid choice.
