“good” (1.5)
“Likes: looks very high-quality; good to very good sound at high volume levels. Dislikes: barely allows any air to come into contact with the ears; sits loosely as its fit is not very tight.” |

“very good” (75 out of 100 points)
Value for money: “satisfactory”, “Test Winner” “This Sony model is loud and extremely dynamic. Its bass sounds defined and deep (but not overblown) whilst the highs are wonderfully transparent.” |

Sound verdict: 80 points
Value for money: “very good” “... Its homogeneous, heavy bass and beautifully defined music playback will make you certain you’ve made the right investment with every minute that you spend using it (be it at home or on the go). And the joy could last for quite some time; its material composition and build quality are outstanding and promise to ensure these headphones a long life.” |

Opinions (1) for Sony MDR-Z1000
Review: Sony MDR-Z1000 studio reference monitor headphones Area DVD 5/2011 - For just under 500 euros, Sony is offering a closed, dynamic set of studio headphones (the MDR-Z1000 model) which promises the highest degree of acoustic authenticity thanks to its top quality materials and very high standard of technology. Its extremely precise sound is made possible thanks to its liquid crystal polymer layered membrane and its newly developed 50 mm driver unit. Its light and robust magnesium body helps the device to avoid annoying vibrations, ensuring detailed and undistorted playback. Efficient Neodym magnets go perfectly with the device’s concept, which is made up of high performance components, and urethane ear pads effectively keep out ambient noise - they worked splendidly well in our test. The MDR-Z1000 also wins points for its high degree of durability and for its frequency response which ranged from 5 to 80,000 Hz.. Its input performance is boosted by up to 4,000 mW. A cable, which is made of pure, oxygen-free copper, a 3.5 mm mini jack plug and a gold-plated 6.25 mm adapter are also included to enable the headphones to perform as efficiently as possible. Its light, one-sided, 3 metre long cable also guarantees luxurious listening pleasure. In addition to this, the MDR-Z1000 is pleasantly light with a ‘live weight’ of 270 grams.
