Value for money: 3 out of 6 stars
This slim, impressive-looking offering from Sony, thanks to features such as a titanium body case, and impressive specs, pushes itself into the upper echelon in terms of price - where the focus on style hinders its ability to compete. PC Pro explains that the small sensor hurts image quality, while the lack of external sockets or hotshoe, and the insistence on Sony's proprietary Memory Stick card format takes away much utility.

With excellent video quality and a truly tiny form factor, the HDR-TG3 may be a little more expensive than its main competitors, however, MacUser felt it was one the finest examples of a solid state camcorder and well worth looking into for holidays and nights out.

"Editor's Choice"
An impressive performance from an ultra-light camcorder. MacWorld were surprised to see such a small camcorder perform so well and believes it is just as good as any full-sized HD offering.

"Best Buy"
PC Advisor lauds the inclusion of so many features and such high performance in such a petite upright camcorder. The full-HD video with provisions for plentiful storage backed up by a top notch optical system only begins to cover the HDR-TG3's capabilities. Highly recommended.
