"... there's a 'presence sensor' built into the TV so it can tell when there's nobody sat watching it, so it can switch itself off while not in use. Add to that a light sensor that adjusts screen brightness to ambient conditions and this Bravia's a seriously energy conscious bit of kit. All the usual Sony goodies are included too, from virtual surround to Voice Zoom ... Bizarrely, it's also included a Picture Frame Mode, turning the whole TV into a giant slideshow while not in use, and completely undoing all your good energy saving work. ... A fantastic telly that'll trim your electricity bills and save the planet too."

Some in-fact genuinely considered energy efficient ideas have been introduced into Sony's KDL-46WE5 46" LCD TV. Complete HD specifications, and accomplished image quality need only slightly better black levels to make this a definitive set. The white frame may split opinions though.
