Value for money: 4 out of 6 stars
The Alpha A350's most interesting feature is its excellent Live View mode which works without impacting on speed and accuracy. Its 14.2 megapixel sensor sounds tempting, but PC Pro warns this has an impact on image quality at higher ISO levels and the difference it makes in image quality doesn't justify the difference in price between this camera and the more affordable A200.

Value for money: 5 out of 5 stars
Practical Photography felt that the biggest hurdle the a350 would have to overcome was one of brand recognition. The camera itself produces great images across the whole ISO range, is one of the easiest DSLRs to get to grips with, has that useful tilting Live View LCD and in-camera image stabilisation, so even cheaper Minolta lenses will get the benefit. Unfortunately, as the magazine suggests, many experienced photographers will overlook all this and only see the badge of a consumer electronics manufacturer, unfairly sidelining a fantastic DSLR.

Certainly a well priced camera that is better constructed than most of rivals. DP Review explains that the A350 can not compete with its rivals on all-over performance, but ease of use hint at a more consumer focused trend from Sony, and for this, the company can be given a pat on the back.

Despite its plastic build, Computer Act!ve found the Alpha 350 to have a reassuringly solid feel to it. There aren't to many accessories for the Alphe system yet, but with everything on offer with the camera, from in-camera shake reduction to a flip-out, Live View enabled LCD, there isn't much wrong with it.

"Recommended"
The A350 isn't a full professional DSLR. Instead it is a an upgrade of the A200 with a big 14.2-megapixel sensor. Trusted Reviews thought the A350 was a great camera for advanced amateurs especially at such a bargain price.
