"Budget Buy" Expert Reviews considered the F3 worthy of a 'Budget buy' award thanks to its impressive performance, beating more expensive hard drives and even almost reaching SSD speeds for a fraction of the price. It only disappointed when reading small files, but even then, application loading times were excellent. |

Value for money: "excellent" (6 out of 6 points), "A List", "Recommended" PC Pro felt the price (4.8p per gigabyte) and performance of the Spinpoint F3 made it a great offer. This drive has fast read and write speeds for both large and small file transfer, and is a faster mechanical drive than PC Pro have seen. It also has a reasonable power consumption that peaks at 7.2W. However, there are rivals that make for a slightly better deal. |

Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB PC Pro 7/2010 - Samsung's Spinpoint F1 hard disks have been impressing us for more than two years, but the range is now showing its age. Happily, the F3 series is already here to take up its mantle. (The F2 designation is reserved for Samsung's low-power 'EcoGreen' drives.)
