"Budget Buy"
"... DLP's traditional advantage has been contrast, and the A600 didn't disappoint. As long as you're in a dark room, the picture quality is superb, with plenty of detail in dark areas. However, the 1,000 lumens lamp isn't quite bright enough for our liking; small amounts of ambient light, hugely reduce contrast, making this projector less flexible than many. Colours are impressive, once again with the proviso that the room is dark. ... The A600 needs a dark room and it doesn't have lens shift. However, the rainbow effect isn't very pronounced, it's quiet and image quality is excellent."

"While there are enough good things about the A600B to persuade me that Samsung should persevere in the scarily competitive projection marketplace, I can't help but think that Samsung really needs to commit to the market more whole-heartedly if it's going to keep up with the projection Joneses. If you manage to find an A600B going for sub-£1,000 at some point in the future, it might just be worth a punt. But as it stands, for me it doesn’t have enough going for it to justify £1,190."

"For all its cinematic goodness, nice styling and ease of use, Samsung's SP-A600B is stuck somewhere between the real bargain Full HD projectors and the high-end. As such it's a step-up model for those who are after something more solid and dependable, though a lack of flexibility and its high price takes the edge off what is an overall very enjoyable DLP performance."
