Offering great looks and bursting with features, in the opinion of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision, the mag applauded the Samsung LE32B650's TV Tuner and the set's adeptness with motion and fine colour balance, but believed that pictures were not as detailed or subtle as the very best, given the strong competition it faces.

Superb image quality along with very attractive design and a whole slew of connectivity and functions combine in Samsung's LE-32B650 with a highly affordable price. Certainly one of the best 32in TVs around, even though the audio is less spectacular and internet access is limited.

"The Samsung LE32B650 produces a near-perfect balance of design, pictures and features - and all for the sort of aggressive price that will have many Japanese manufacturers crying into their sushi. In fact, were it not for the average audio, the LE32B650 would have ended up with an even higher score."

The killer in Samsung's LE32B650 32" LCD TV is the spectacular black levels, far more convincing than any similar screen. Against this though is Samsung's continued lack of effort in audio, and despite the attractive design and comprehensive specs it loses out in this area.

Issue 6/2009 Position 1/7 in test |
Showing where 32" LCD TVs are going, Samsung's LE-32B650 comes with wireless DLNA, Internet@TV, USB, 1080p and more new technology than you'll be likely to use. Strong colour ability and fluid motion leave for little to be desired and only slight lack of refinement separates it from the best in this test.
