3.5 out of 5 stars
Anyone who is not quite ready to jump up to the expensive high-end S2, but who wants to step up from a feature phone, will find the Galaxy W a decent option at its price. It has some weaknesses, but generally the plus points outweigh these. The battery life is certainly very good, the processor is fast and the interface intuitive. TechRadar do note call distortion as a failure. |

8 out of 10 points
Value for money: 8 out of 10 points, "Recommended" The Samsung Galaxy W doesn't look anything special, but it is a joy to use. It came very close to being nominated for one of Trusted Reviews 2011 awards, and they say it makes a great, affordable alternative to the Galaxy S2. The 1.4GHz single core processor proved itself to be very quick, and both the 3.7-inch screen and 5MP camera are very decent. |

"outstanding" (5 out of 5 stars)
After some uninspiring mid-range handsets, Samsung seem to have hit the nail on the head with the Galaxy W, say Mobile Phones UK. The 3.7-inch screen offers a decent 480x800 resolution, the 1.4GHz CPU can handle most tasks without a problem and battery life is actually decent for a smartphone. A solid handset that doesn't disappoint and offers excellent value for money. |

without final score
While the Samsung Galaxy W is a little bulkier than the S2 and the screen resolution is quite poor, CNET still recommend the model as a bargain Android phone. It has a sturdy build and looks to be made of quality materials. The Android software is obviously the main appeal of this phone and it doesn't disappoint with its multiple pre-installed widgets and apps. |

Value for money: 91% “Like most modern smartphones, the new Galaxy model focusses on online connectivity and performance, and it scores well with its impressive speed too. With TouchWiz 4.0 and the latest version of Android, there are endless ways in which the smartphone can be customised. The quality of its display (without AMOLED) is rather average, as are the phone’s acoustics, camera and appearance. Its durable battery was impressive though. ...” |

“Likes: attention to detail on the casing; the latest Android 2.3; latest Touchwiz 3.0; 1.4GHz processor; fast performance; HSDPA up to 14.4 Mbps; 3.7-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels; 5 megapixel camera. Dislike: body creaks slightly; sub-standard material.” |

Samsung Galaxy W i8150 TrustedReviews 11/2011 - Samsung's Galaxy W may have a smaller screen than the S2, at only 3.7-inches, and a single rather than dual core processor, but it is also on the market for a much lower price.
Samsung Galaxy W S21 11/2011 - Although Samsung's latest high-end offerings have been nothing short of superb, the same can't be said of their mid-tier models. The Galaxy W aims to right the wrongs of offerings like the Galaxy Ace.
