Product tested: Galaxy Player 50 (8GB) Trusted Reviews declared the iPod Touch to be a far superior device. As a media player based around the Android platform, the Samsung Galaxy Player 50 has made a good attempt, but there are serious issues with the software, although these could be fixed with updates. It also costs a fortune to buy the device, especially when you compare it to the iPod Touch. |

Product tested: Galaxy Player 50 (8GB) Outstanding battery life and a great user interface certainly make the Samsung Galaxy Player 50 (8GB) a reasonable choice, that is, if you actually need such a device, says T3. After a look at this product, their reviewers concluded that although it's decent, they're left wondering if anyone really needs a PMP, when there are so many smartphones that can do the same thing. |

Despite having a solid build and potential for microSD expansion among its features, reviewers at Techradar had considerable problems with this phone's software. They found its major selling point, Android, to be completely useless as it consistently caused the player to crash. The quality and size of the screen was also a let-down, being a bit small for web-browsing. |

Pocket Lint felt that this was a bit over-priced, especially when compared to similar gadgets which cost just a little more, yet are of significantly better quality and entertainment value. They cited buggy software, plastic-construct, and poor screen resolution as the worst offences in their review, going on to say that this is more of an entry-level mobile device than a PMP. |

Product tested: Galaxy Player 50 (8GB) CNet found the Galaxy Player 50 to be a huge disappointment that didn't stand a chance against Apple's iPod touch due to its frustrating sluggishness, small screen, poor music player and fiddly interface. Having access to the Android Market is a huge bonus and video playback is good, but in general it feels half baked, and at the price, that's a deal breaker. |

Samsung Galaxy Player 50 TrustedReviews 1/2011 - Samsung can safely be described as a leader in the Android smartphone space, with its Galaxy-based line-up - the flagship of which is the Android 2.3-running Nexus S - going great guns. As such, the Galaxy Player 50 isn’t that surprising a release. It was only ever a matter of time before Samsung followed Apple’s lead in taking a smartphone OS and paring it down to fit on a media player. We’re mostly surprised it’s taken this long.
