While plasma is still the leader in screen technology, LCD is closing in with LED edge-lighting, as evinced in Samsung's UE40B7000WW. Media support is phenomenally good, especially with MKV files in this excellent set.

Tiny differences in image colour between Samsung's UE40B7000 40" LCD TV and its identical sibling can be erased with careful tweaking. Boundless specs, fine image quality and design are let down by less than equal audio. Either this or its twin make a fine choice though.

The TV was tested in 4 different magazines and gave reviewers little cause to complain, achieving fair results accross the board.
The Samsung UE40B7000 scored highest in What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision magazine (6/2009) with an overall rating of "excellent" (5 out of 5 stars). The product received its worst result from Register Hardware online magazine (issue 11/2009) with a score of 80%.
The Samsung UE40B7000 was also able to walk away with the "Editor's Choice" (CNET.co.uk 8/2009) prize.
