Along with Sony in bringing two pairs to this text, Pioneer's BDP 51FD player and SC-LX71amp are a fine pairing. Blu-ray reproduction is superb, natural and smooth, but it is the amp that doesn't quite measure up. Not enough meat at the top end, and a floppy bass, this system would be a superior combination if replaced with the 'LX81 amp.
