"Best Buy"

3D performance is fantastic, THX-certified video is sure to impress movie fans, and TrustedReviews say its multimedia talents will keep just about everyone happy, so as far as they're concerned, Panasonic's TX-P42GT30B is one of the very best top-end TVs on the market, and although it comes at a high-end price, its features and performance mean it's certainly justified.

Panasonic failed to include active glasses in the package with the TX-P42GT30B so you'll need to consider the additional cost of £110 per pair if you buy this TV, but FiveFwd found little else to complain about. Colours are reproduced very well, being bright and natural looking. If plasma 3D HDTV is what you're after, then add this to the top of your list.

As well as excelling when it comes to all-important 2D and 3D picture quality, Panasonic's TX-P42GT30B impressed TechRadar with its brilliant VIERA Connect IPTV portal, Freeview HD and Freesat HD tuners and generous file compatibility. If you're after a 3D TV with smart features, this 42-incher should be near the top of your list, but 3D glasses are an extra cost.

T3 found the level of performance from Panasonic's TX-P42GT30 nothing short of amazing. 2D and 3D performance were both outstanding, with 3D exhibiting no crosstalk. Backed up with brilliantly rich VIERA Connect IPTV content and excellent media streaming skills, it's simply a must-see. But at this price, the fact that there are no glasses included didn't go unnoticed.

Value for money: “adequate”, “Test Winner”, “Value for money winner”

“Likes: best 3D picture; records digital TV to USB; best channel programming. Dislikes: 3D glasses really expensive (around 100 euros a pair); low brightness with 3D.”
