"Editor's Choice" The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77's slim, sleek body makes it easy to pop into your pocket, but it was also a source of slight concern for CNET, as they felt it could be a bit tricky to hold. However, it redeemed itself with a fantastic touchscreen, brilliantly usable interface, and great images, so overall, they considered it to be one of the best compacts currently available. |

Value for money: 17 out of 20 points The touchscreen is both large and responsive, and the focusing performance is pretty good, giving What Digital Camera lots to like about the Panasonic Lumix FX77. Image quality is also quite reasonable, although it's a shame they are not more detailed. This is however a good performing and reliable compact camera option, which makes it a champion. |

Value for money: 17 out of 20 points, "Recommended" Lacking the new creative modes that some of its competitors have, Panasonic's Lumix FX77 is one for those who appreciate photographic functionality over cutting-edge features or novelty, according to Camera Labs. It can offer more than many of its similarly-priced competitors in terms of screen size and its excellent 24mm super-wide-angle coverage though. |

Value for money: 4 out of 5 stars, "Recommended" Not many compact camera have such features as an f/2.5 lens or easy to use touchscreen, and the DMC-FX77 is also capable of shooting Full HD video too. It produces good images with both close up or zoomed in pictures and ePHOTOzine are glad to recommend it. They do say though that the battery life is limited and you can't set the ISO higher than 1600 manually. |

Value for money: 4 out of 5 stars Most cameras in this price range offer much fewer features than the Lumix DMC-FX77, something that for Digicambuyer places it a notch above its peers. Granted, the touchscreen is a tad clunky and makes it difficult at first to get to grips with the menu system, but once they got used to it they praised the quality of its pictures and especially its impressive 3D mode. |

4 out of 5 stars
The well-built and stylish Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77 does an admirable job as a mid-range compact digital camera, according to the team at TechRadar. It produces outstandingly clear pictures with great colour fidelity and has a good range of modes to choose from. If only it had some decent manual controls and a better touchscreen, it would be a real winner. |

4 out of 5 stars
For those searching for a compact digital camera that combines looks with ability, the team at Computer act!ve think that the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77 would be a good choice. With a large and functional touchscreen, interesting image filters and 3D mode, the FX77 is fun to use, however it can be a bit tricky to operate and there are some issues with the daylight setting. |

Value for money: 7 out of 10 points TrustedReviews thought the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77 was quite a nice little point-and-shoot in a gimmicky disguise. Nevertheless, they did find it easy and enjoyable to use, with its digital effects modes encouraging creativity. While the touchscreen is a nice feature, they sometimes could've done with more manual control and more grip, and suggest that some might prefer the cheaper FX70. |

“Excellent image quality” “If you prefer cameras that are straightforward and which use the most up-to-date operating concepts, you can’t go wrong with the Panasonic FX77. It’s very easy to operate because practically all the settings are automatically defined by the camera. They can only be partially adjusted, e.g. you can alter the centre of focus via the LCD screen.” |

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77 CNET.co.uk 11/2011 - A camera's capabilities are often given away by the category it falls into; DSLRs offer great versatility, ultra-compacts are take-anywhere companions, and superzooms offer that something extra for keen amateurs. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77, however, falls somewhere in the middle.
Panasonic Lumix FX77 / FX78 Camera Labs 8/2011 - The 12.1mp, 5x stabilised zoom Panasonic Lumix FX77 (known as the FX78 in North America) is lighter and more slender than its FX series predecessors, and it boasts faster AF operation and a new CCD sensor.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77 TrustedReviews 3/2011 - Once the stuff of science fiction movies, touch screens have gradually worked their way into our everyday lives to such an extent that we would hardly bat an eyelid at finding one incorporated into the latest pair of Nike's, let alone feel the warm glow of anticipation at finding one on a digital camera. That said, it's still something of a rarity to see a camera with almost not physical controls, as here with the new 12.1 megapixel Panasonic DMC-FX77: the larger-than-average 3.5-inch screen swallows up the entire backplate of the camera, in iPhone fashion.
