“The SD99 gives you a whole load of HD camera for your money. The biggest limitations you have to accept for the device’s price are its slightly low sharpness levels, lack of tools when it comes to picture settings as well as its poor display and missing headphone port. ...”

“Hats off!: the more affordable of the two Panasonic camcorders even managed to outdo the two clearly more expensive models from Canon and JVC. With the biggest contrast ratio in our test and a zoom factor of 34.5, it even managed to surpass its bigger brother which placed second ... However, the various criteria marks show where Panasonic has made cut backs to the HDC-SD99. Its film recordings were slightly less detailed and the image noise was somewhat more visible. ...”
