“... Panasonic considers this semi-professional camcorder to be a direct extension of the DSLR camera. This means that the AG-AF101 cleans up the well-known flaws of the photo/video hybrid when it comes to picture and sound quality. It comes with XLR inputs, a decent viewfinder, as well as HDMI and HD SDI outputs. However, not all users are sure about the model’s design and operating elements. ...” |

“very good” (73 out of 100 points)
Value for money: “very good”, “Best Buy” “... Delivered a respectable performance ... with 73 points in the standard evaluation and, despite having a more complicated operating system, it was still on a par with the similarly priced, classic Sony NX 5 hand-held model. “Likes: extensive lens and adapter set; waveform video monitoring, vectorscope, zebra, peaking; rolling shutter issue has been well solved; no moirée or aliasing; ND filter wheel; fast motion, slow motion. Dislikes: main switch is not very well marked; viewfinder and monitor don’t work at the same time; viewfinder is very small with low resolution.” |

We tested out the Panasonic AG-AF 101 with a range of different lenses (including high-quality Leica-M lenses) ...
