The TX-SR 605 is an outstanding all round performer with plenty of future-proof features. AVReview could only point to its slightly dated design as its main failing.

The Onkyo TX-SR 605 E surround sound receiver seems to have set itself up as the one to beat, coming out on top in a group test in EISA Awards, What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision, and AVReview magazines.
The surround sound receiver was put through its paces in the test labs of 4 magazines and was, in general, positively received.
Its highest score of "excellent" (5 out of 5 stars) came from What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision magazine which tested the Onkyo TX-SR 605 E in their 10/2007 issue.
