Like most compact digitals in the mid-range, Olympus' mju 1060 has a standard range of features. A slightly refreshed body over the previous models, and new 3" HyperCrystal LCD along with image stabilisation and VGA 30fps video come together to make a solid, simple camera let down a little by some poor image results.

A point-and-shoot that meets the requirements of such a camera, Olympus' mju 1060is overall a quite acceptable camera. Fast autofocus, clean images, improvements at the limits of its capabilities and an enlarged feature set would round it out more.

While in most respects, the Mju 1060 is a fairly standard point and shoot, its overall good image quality and stylish design combined with the longer-than-average 7x zoom range may make this camera attractive to many consumers. Cameras.co.uk felt this impressive zoom range in such a small and stylish camera gave the Mju 1060 an edge over some of its main rivals.
