With its long battery life and comfortable QWERTY keyboard, Personal Computer World found the E71 a perfect smartphone for emails. The lack of support for Blackberry Connect was disappointing, but with IMAP, POP3 and Exchange support built-in, as well as GPS, 3G and WiFi, it is about as fully featured as they come.

With more of a focus on the core functionality of a smartphone rather than on multimedia bells and whistles, PDA Essentials came away from their time with the E71 very impressed indeed. Battery life was superb and the price was also quite realistic considering the target audience.

Despite the keyboard feeling rather cramped, IT Week felt its inclusion was testament to the E71's good design and solid feature-set that it has one at all. With Wi-Fi, VoIP support, GPS and decent battery life the E71 is a real rival to the successful BlackBerry line of handsets.

This is a mobile that finally combines a stylish design with a Qwerty keypad. CNet.co.uk found the camera to be a little sluggish but everything else was close to perfect.
