"... the LG 42LH5000 isn't just about 200Hz motion control. You'll also find a massive 4 HDMI ports, 80,000:1 contrast ratio and Full HD. So hooking up a Blu-ray player and console will still leave you breathing space for future HD treats. ... However, stick on a movie with plenty of shady night time scenes and you'll really notice the niggles. Blacks look washed out and the colours don't compare well to other TVs in this class. However, if you're after buying a TV for next year's World Cup and are struggling to justify the outlay to your other half, the LG 42LH5000 is for you. ... A fine HD TV with 200Hz let down by basic lack of decent colours."

"excellent" (5 out of 5 stars)
With a superior design to many rivals, the LG 42LH5000 offers super sharp, fantastically insightful and very naturally coloured images, motion processing is very good. Contrast is generally impressive with black levels that, although not as deep as rivals, are sufficiently acceptable at this price.

"excellent" (5 out of 5 stars)
A solid set of specs, including 200Hz images leave LG's 42LH5000 only wanting for slightly deeper blacks. For the price this is a desirable set, giving confident performance even across the audio. One to have a look at for sure.

For a first attempt at 200Hz, LG has done commendably well in the 42LH5000 42" LCD TV. Black levels and viewing angle need improvement, and for the price this is remarkably good value.
