9 out of 10 points
Value for money: 8 out of 10 points, "Recommended" TrustedReviews found it hard to imagine just how JVC could improve on the X7 enough to justify the X9's pretty hefty price tag. They weren't convinced it would be worth forking out that much extra for the hand-picked parts, but they admit that JVC proved them wrong. Quite simply, they say it's the closest thing to actually going to the cinema, for under £10,000 at least. |

“excellent” (1.2); Reference Class
Value for money: “excellent”, “Reference” “The X9 made a dazzling impression in our test labs. The developers back in Japan have actually managed to create a solution which delivers both high light yields for 3D playback and maximum contrast for 2D pictures - and all with the same exquisite quality you would expect from a D-ILA projector. That’s why the X9 most definitely has the best of both worlds!” |

JVC DLA-X9 TrustedReviews 5/2011 - JVC's DLA-X3 projector is arguably the bargain AV product of the year to date. The step up DLA-X7 was the strongest-performing projector we've seen in 2011 to date. Which kind of begs the question of exactly where JVC can go with the X9: another step up model with a price tag only just shy of £10k. Can it really add enough to the quality of the £6.5k X7 to justify the price hike?
