The HP EliteBook 8740w offers a powerful performance, a great price and, unusually for a business laptop, an appealing design in the opinion of PC Advisor. thanks to its brushed metal casing. The reviewer complimented the screens viewing angle and stated that the speakers are loud and bassy enough to be heard to some extent even in a crowded room. |

HP EliteBook 8740w PC Advisor 10/2010 - The HP EliteBook 8740w is a highly configurable, rugged desktop-replacement laptop. You can plump for an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, up to 32GB of 1,333MHz DDR3 RAM, more than 1TB of hard-disk space (or up to 256GB SSD), and HP's DreamColor screen. Naturally, such a loaded model will set you back considerably.
