With the X79-UD3, Gigabyte have managed to prove that you don't need to buy the most expensive motherboard in order to have an excellent high performance computer. It's still quite expensive, but it's the cheapest X79 board on the market, and delivers a great stock and overclock performance. Tech Radar say it's missing some extras though to balance out the price. |

Value for money: 8 At first sight, the most interesting aspect of the X79-UD3 is its intuitive graphic setup screen, but there's a lot more to like here, say Micro Mart. There are more USB ports on board than you can shake a stick at, four PCI-Express slots and its overclocking capabilities are quite impressive for the price, although this is something that must be done using third-party software. |
