Bringing in new converts to the Sims empire, EA's Sims 3 for Mac and PC has a splendidly vast and immersive gameplay. AI is commendably sophisticated, though it is easy to get trapped in the mundane tasks of the day. Some bugs are apparent though.

For existing Sims players, there's no question this is a must-have upgrade, and for those new to the game, The Sims 3 is a commendable entry point. Still with the easy gameplay, though with much more depth, for those who never liked it, this release won't change that opinion.

If even some of the qualitative changes in Sims 3 appeal, this will be a game to enthral and and keep returning to for a long time. While in the past this was the game for those who didn't like gaming, FPS, RPG and all the rest, now it is one for all.
