"Buy It!" Though more expensive than many other routers, Computeractive say that the D-Link DIR-645 is a stylish looking wireless router that offers extra features. It includes smartbeam technology - 6 internal antennas aiming the signal towards connected devices, to improve connectivity even when further away. It does still struggle a bit over distances but overall, it does a good job. |

Boasting good looks, smooth-running USB storage functions, and a superior interface compared to the slightly quicker Buffalo WZR-HP-G450H, Expert Reviews say D-Link's DIR-645 is a fantastic router. They wouldn't especially recommend D-Link's own DWA-160 dongle, but teaming the router with an affordable Dynamode option produced excellent results. |

Score: 8
Value for money: 7 A provided setup wizard on CD helps make setting up D-link's DIR-645 a breeze, in turn making the product perfect for newcomers to the world of routers, according to Micro Mart. Settings can also be changed manually, so even for more experienced users, they say it's still a good purchase. However, the unique look might not be to everyone's taste. |

9 out of 10 points
Value for money: 9 out of 10 points, "Recommended" The D-Link DIR-645 is the brand's first use of SmartBeam technology, which strengthens the 802.11n wireless standard. TrustedReviews say it has a smart design and actually makes an improvement to real performance and range. Set up is simple and it's attractively priced, so this could be a sensible option until the next 802.11 standard is released in the future. |

TechRadar think the D-Link DIR-645 doesn't prove to be good value if purchased at the full price and even when discounted, the price is more similar to a dual-band unit. This is a single-band solution and though the 2.4GHz frequency isn't the best, it challenges 5GHz units when it comes to performance speeds. However if another 2.4GHz router's being used, speeds decrease. |
