The Canon EOS 60D features the same 18MP APS-C chip that's inside the 600D and 7D models, which produces a large 5184x3456 pixel resolution. Though the polycarbonate body doesn't feel as premium of some rival cameras, it has a well designed handgrip that creates a secure hold. Photo Answers say that locking on in Live View is slower than expected, at around 3s before focussing. |

Value for money: 3 out of 5 stars Product tested: EOS 60D Kit (with EF-S 17-85 mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM)TechRadar said the Canon EOS 60D offers some nice features, such as solid construction, wireless flash control and an articulated LCD. It also produces great video and images; however, reviewers felt that getting optimal results was a bit trickier than it ought to be, since they had to fiddle a lot with its exposure-compensation and auto-lighting-optimization settings. |

Product tested: EOS 60D Kit (with EF-S 17-55mm 1:2.8 IS USM) The Canon EOS 60D is an excellent all-rounder whose 17-55mm kit lens produces fantastic pictures with natural colours. It's quick to start up and focus, the swiveling screen is clear and pin sharp, and its 5.3fps are par for the course. It's not cheap, but MacWorld thought that the results and its solid build were well worth the outlay. |

"Stuff.tv" "... overall, photo quality is nothing less than superb. ... The Canon 60D is pricey, but it feels like the perfect camera for the Canon user looking to step up from the entry level and grab something almost pro quality. ..." |

Product tested: EOS 60D Kit (with EF-S 18-135mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS) ExpertReviews thinks this is a great option for those Canon owners looking to upgrade but who also want to hang on to their lens collection. Compared to other choices, this camera has rather exceptional ergonomics, with a good-sized viewfinder and articulated screen. Otherwise, picture quality, though good, wasn't much better or much worse than comparable devices. |

Product tested: EOS 60D Kit (with EF-S 18-135mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS) What Digital Camera discovered that shots taken on the Canon 60D had fantastic metering, due to the iFCL sensor, and were punchier than the Nikon D7000. Overall, picture quality was excellent. It has a great specification for video shooting and the vari-angle screen will be appealing to many. It is primarily a consumer camera, it handles well and is comfortable to hold. |

Value for money: 85% "Some critics have accused Canon of 'dumbing down' the X0D series with the EOS 60D, but there's little to support this argument. ... changes have not come at the cost of image quality ... The EOS 60D sits between the EOS 550D and EOS 7D and offers just the right level of auto, semi-auto and manual settings to appeal to both enthusiasts and semi-professional shooters alike. ..." |

"good performance" (4 out of 5 stars)
Value for money: "best in its class" (5 out of 5 stars) Digital Photo found that images produced by the Canon EOS 60D were well-balanced with clear detail. Its ability to control noise, although good, is bettered by other cameras. It has a neat vari-angle screen that can be pulled out from the body. So ultimately, even though this camera is a very solid performer indeed, it is cruelly beaten by the others in this group test. |

"Best Mid Range DSLR 2010" What Digital Camera feel that the Canon EOS 60D achieves everything they would expect of a winning mid-range DSLR. It slots itself very neatly between the EOS 550D and the EOS 7D, in terms of functionality and price. It comes with a vari-angle screen, Full HD 1080p video shooting and an 18MP CMOS sensor. As a replacement for the popular 50D, it works brilliantly. |

4 out of 5 stars
Pocket-lint have concluded that the Canon EOS 60D is like a merger of the 550D and 7D, or else something in-between the two. The most important extra feature, considering the price-level, is the vari-angle screen, more so then the other small design tweaks. Image quality is really good and it shoots HD video. They think the build could be a bit sturdier. |

The only aspect of the EOS 60D that left FiveFWD feeling underwhelmed was its plastic body, although it feels solid and sturdy nonetheless. In all other respects this is a top notch camera, delivering impressive pictures and video and sporting a fast 5.3fps burst mode and a swiveling display for framing shots from difficult angles. |

"Silver Award" The EOS 60D offers better comfort, greater flexibility, and speedier controls than Canon's other, more entry-level DSLRs says Digital Photography Review. They say that while features like twin-dial controls and a large viewfinder will certainly appeal to stills photographers, this camera offers plenty for would-be videographers as well, such as a fantastic, articulated screen. |

Value for money: "good performance" (4 out of 5 stars) Product tested: EOS 60D Kit (with EF-S 17-85 mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM)Digital Photo gave the Canon EOS 60D top marks for performance and image quality and were pleased that it also shoots full HD video. They really liked the feel and design of the camera and thought it was well laid out. When tested images were free of noise up to ISO 3200. Shadows and highlights were well defined. It is ideal for those upgrading from an entry-level D-SLR. |

CNet were very enthusiastic about the Canon EOS 60D, they think it's a bombastic, fantastic digital SLR. It has such an impressive array of features, which are top of the range and useful for everybody, that they think the average amateur photographer should never need another camera. On top of everything else it includes a swivel-and-tilt LCD screen and shoots 1080p video. It has a solid build, making it perhaps a wee bit too heavy, and it is pricey. |

Value for money: 17 out of 20 points, "Gold Award" Product tested: EOS 60D Kit (with EF-S 17-85 mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM)What Digital Camera conclude that the Canon EOS 60D has been designed more particularly for the consumer. They approve of the vari-angle high-res screen and the Full HD video capture but feel the mode button lock and the multi-controller may not be popular with everyone. Overall, it is a fast, straightforward camera that delivers beautiful images. |
