At high volumes, What Hi-Fi found the 684s to produce a truly engrossing soundstage with a deep bass and smooth mid-range that never grates and with their tempting price and excellent build quality, they would be perfect for anyone with the freedom to pump the volume up to eleven, sit back and enjoy.

With great sonic ability the 684s keep the Bowers & Wilkins flag flying with aplomb. Balanced delivery with a grand sense of scale, the 684s can cope with almost any genre you'd care to throw at it, the only caveat that What Hi-Fi? suggests in their review is that as the speakers work best at high volumes, you had better hope your neighbours share your taste in music.
