The AVM FRITZ!Box WLAN 7390 is pretty much the ideal router for small offices, according to the experts at IT PRO. Feature-packed and easy to operate, this compact and versatile device is sure to impress, although the wireless performance is not as amazing as it perhaps could be and may require an additional wireless access point to expand its range.

Value for money: "very good" (5 out of 6 stars), "Recommended"

PC Pro says that while the Fritz!Box 7390 let them down a bit with its pokey raw wireless performance, its outstanding quality and features more than compensate, especially if one wants a stable, speedy wireless network. They found it incredibly easy to set up, and say that it's got the most well-organised and straightforward management systems they've seen on such a device.

MacFormat are very impressed with the AVM FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390 wireless modem router. It has simultaneous dual band, which means internet is snappy and file transfers are really fast too. It comes with lots of features, including internal memory and a media streamer. Although they note it is expensive, you get a lot for your money.

Single test
"excellent" (8.5 out of 10 Points)

The construction of the Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7390 is a bit lightweight and the lack of 3G failover, user-level file sharing and capabilities in advanced management are all negatives for this device. However, ZDNet reckon it has excellent VoIP abilities and is easy to set-up and use. They also liked the inclusion of TAPI and 3G support as well as its media and NAS streaming capabilities. It can be used on a desktop or be wall mounted.

The Inquirer
Single test
7 out of 10 points

The setup and configuration of the Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7390 is incredibly simple, it comes with good documentation and advanced telephony features. The plastic build feels a bit cheap though and it has a quirky appearance. It does not include 3G failover or failback and users of cable will have to lose a LAN port. The Inquirer considered it a decent option for people who need advanced telephony features in the home, but felt those who didn't would find it too pricey.
