"... little has changed with the Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell. It has a satisfyingly flat and smooth ergonomic keyboard, and once you've adjusted your typing to netbook key-closeness, you can really tap out your emails at lightning speed. The multi-touch trackpad is a little textured, but it is not off-putting. In fact, it feels oddly nice. However, the plastic trackpad button is a little too shiny, making your click-finger or thumb stick to it a little at times. The built-in camera is good quality for a netbook, as some tend to have a dark picture, such as the MSI Wind U1000. ... An even better take on the excellent Eee PC Seashell."

With the clamshell design making Asus' Eee PC 1005HA look far more like a laptop and less like budget electronics, the main issue is in the underpowered CPU. Battery life is expected to be better than the test version though.

"... The 1.6GHz Intel Atom 270 processor makes for a snappy user experience though with just 1GB of RAM, we'd advise against maxing out the 160GB hard drive. You can start up and shut down in about 30 seconds, and applications load very quickly. Media is really the only area the Seashell falters, despite a sizeable 10.1-inch screen. ... Despite being weak on media specs, Seashell 1005HA performs admirably at the classic netbook functions – web surfing, instant messaging and document editing. Considering it's also one of the most portable netbooks around, this one's a winner."
