PC Pro confirms that even in the face of growing competition, the Eee PC still warrants a serious look. The 901 is itself a big upgrade from the previous model, with the inclusion of the long awaited Intel Atom processor, 802.11n wireless support, and a fantastic new battery, all the while retaining all the features that made it such a hit in the first place. A potential stumbling block may be the price tag.

With so many new systems gunning its market, the Asus had its work cut out for it from the start. Personal Computer World felt that in the light of cheaper alternatives with better keyboards, the Eee PC 901 had lost a bit of that original lustre, but with its excellent battery life and great operating system it is still the best Eee PC out there, just not quite the best netbook.

CNet.co.uk found the Eee PC 901 to hold a few great upgrades; for example its more efficient CPU and better battery life. The Eee PC 901 is around 100g heavier than the original model, though and the keyboard remains too small.
