Although not really cut out for gaming PC Pro suggests that anyone looking for a sleek and tidy desktop system for basic tasks will be more than happy with the iMac. The monitor is excellent and even with only 1GB of RAM the system runs smoothly.

As the lowest spec model in the range, it follows that the 2.4GHz iMac is the slowest performer, however, MacWorld recorded an impressive 13 percent speed increase over the previous low-end model, giving this iMac similar performance to the most expensive standard configuration iMac of 2007. The magazine's main gripe was with the quality of the screen, where they found the viewing angles a little restrictive compared to the higher quality 24in screen.

The 20in iMac is more expensive than a Windows PC but as Computer Active points out that the added extras make up for it. The 20in iMac also has a good range of hardware features and bundled software.

The desktop PC was reviewed by 3 magazines with special attention paid to performance, and came out relatively unscathed, managing to let its quality carry it though.
The best review that the Apple iMac 2.4GHz 20" (2/2008) could rack up was 4 out of 5 stars, which was given by MacWorld magazine in 7/2008. Another feather in the cap of the Apple iMac 2.4GHz 20" (2/2008) is the award; "Recommended" (PC Pro 12/2008) .
