The K840 KL headphones from AKG provide a high quality audio experience, in part thanks to the Kleer wireless technology. However you have to carry a transmitter to be able to stream music to the headphones, though it's small and plugs in with a standard audio jack. An expensive option but they perform well, sound great and can also be used as standard wireless headphones. |

“Plus X Award Recommendation”
“Plus X Award: Quality”, “Plus X Award: Design” “AKG has been a well-established manufacturer of headphones for decades. It’s not just technology that they take into consideration, but aesthetics too, and it was for this reason that the jury were so taken with the design of the AKG K 840 L. As with all high-quality headphones from this brand, another important factor is comfort. In terms of sound, users will be pleased with the above average results produced by these headphones.” |

without final score
“The ‘luxury’ K 840 KL wireless headphones from AKG sound good, last for ages and can even work without wireless, but sadly they come at a price - at the time of writing, even from the most affordable online supplier these headphones will set you back 330 euros.” |

Sound Level: 56%
Value for money: “good” (2 out of 5 stars) “... With its soft pads, the K 840 sits comfortably on your ears - if just a little tightly. Bass and fundamental tone reproduction quality isn’t really the strength of the AKG model, but otherwise the sound is quite linear, at best heavy on the mids, and well weighted. There is very little difference between cable and wireless connection; the music is a touch fresher and more sturdy when heard via the cable. ...” |

Advantages:
Good sound quality,
Comfortable
Disadvantages:
Expensive
Suitable for:
On-the-move
Good sound, not overly heavy. Pricey. Better portability than sennheisers equals. Good looks. Pricey again. Built in battery, I hope that its of good quality and can take lots of recharges (not replaceable). U have to charge both the transmitter and the headphones.
Intended use with ipod or likewise, I think its better suited with a laptop/desktop and a serious soundcard. At least that is what I use them for.
